Why we
do what we do
We’ve all had our own kairos — that opportune moment to take action. Maybe you've been fortunate enough to have several in your life. Founding Kairos was one of mine.
For the past several years, I have walked alongside former refugee families - some now US citizens themselves - in the small town of Clarkston, Ga., just outside Atlanta. This fell right in line with what i love most ... story-telling. I live among them, eating at their tables and sharing tea and coffee, simply, doing life. Their stories are all unique, but all are woven together with the threads of tragedy and resilience. To say the experience has changed me would be a gross understatement. It led me to work in the Middle East for two years and visit several other countries collecting stories and sharing those in order to build better understanding between peoples. But one of the many lessons my friends have taught me is the precious value of time, and, in my case, where I choose to spend mine.
Opening Kairos has allowed me to work from within my own community.
My office with a view is now the view of the community garden. Moving my professional life to Clarkston gave me the opportunity to continue writing and sharing stories about the people I live alongside, as well as expand my work with amazing small businesses, national companies, community foundations, non-profits and more.
My passion for telling these stories – theirs and yours – is at the heart of what I do. I'd like to discover who you are, too. I want to hear your story, your goals, and, yes, your dreams for your business. That’s why I do what I do.
